POLICIES & PROCEDURES 

 

RELEASE OF LIABILITY

As the legal parent or guardian, I release and hold harmless Jayvee Dance Center, its owners and operators from any and all liability, claims, demands, and causes of action whatsoever, arising out of or related to any loss, damage, or injury, including death, that may be sustained by the participant and/or the undersigned, while in or upon the premises or any premises under the control and supervision of Jayvee Dance Center, its owners and operators or in route to or from any of said premises.
Assume all the foregoing risks and accept personal responsibility for the damages following such injury, permanent disability, or death.
I authorize and give my full consent to Jayvee Dance Center to copyright and/or publish any and all photographs, videotapes, and/or film in which I and/or the minor participants appear while attending Jayvee Dance Center or any JVDC related event. I further agree that JVDC may transfer, use, or cause to be used, these photographs, videotapes, or films for any exhibitions, public displays, publications, commercials, art and advertising purposes, and television programs without limitations or reservations.

 

REGISTRATION FEE

A new student registration fee of $35 is due upon registration.

There is no annual registration fee.
*In the event that you drop your enrollment at Jayvee for more than 6 months, you will need to re-register and a $35 registration fee is due at the time of re-enrollment.

 

CLASS LEVELING

Online enrollments are not considered binding until reviewed by JVDC Staff and it is determined that any prerequisites are satisfied.

All Ballet Level 3 and higher, prepointe, and pointe students must be enrolled in a minimum of 2 ballet classes concurrently a week.
All Jazz Level 2 and higher must be enrolled in a minimum of 1 (or more) ballet classes concurrently.
Contemporary and Lyrical classes must have previous experience in advanced ballet or jazz.

Instructors can and will determine proper leveling for students at their discretion at any given time.

 

MISSED CLASSES & MAKE UPS

In the event that you miss a class, you may make up that missed class within 30 days of the date missed.
Make up classes should be made with ANOTHER class in the same age, group, and level. Please ask the front desk for a list of suggested classes for your make up class.

All missed classes not made up will be forfeited after 30 days of the day missed.

Pole make up classes may only be made up if there is room in another class.
Please call ahead to schedule a makeup.

Adult hip hop, streetease, yoga, and zumba classes may not have make ups in Pole class.

 

AUTOPAY TUITION

Tuition is automatically deducted monthly on the 28th for the following month (ie. 5/28 for June)

If your card or check declines, there is a $25 NSF (insufficient fund fee) that will be added to your bill.
Please log on to your portal to make any changes to your account information to avoid declines.

 

CANCELLATION/DROPS

To cancel your automatic payment and/or drop from your class, please see the front desk.

We will need signature confirmation to cancel any scheduled automatic payments.
We cannot accept cancellations via phone.
We can accept request for drops via portal. You will be contacted via email/phone to complete drop.

There are no refunds, credits, or exchanges. Please do not ask to be the exception.

 

CARE OF STUDENTS

Students should arrive to class on time, dressed properly according to attire policy (see below).
Students will not be admitted into class after 15 minutes of being late. Warm up and stretching is a vital part of your dance class and physical well-being.
Students must sign in for class by finding their name on the sign in sheet and writing their initials in the given space. For students under the age of 5, parents should sign them in before class.
Students under the age of 6 must have a parent or guardian present at the studio in case the student needs assistance in the restroom.
Jayvee Dance Center does not carry medical insurance for its students. It is required that all dance students be covered by their own family insurance policies and if injury occurs it is understood that the student’s policy is their own source of reimbursement.

 

DANCE CLASS ATTIRE

Proper dance shoes and attire are required and mandatory for class.
JVDC offers all apparel required for classes (except shoes). If we do not have your size, you may request to pre-order.

BALLET: Black leotard, pink tights, pink ballet slippers, hair tied neatly in bun.
*No skirts or tutus in class.
*We recommend split sole ballet slippers.
*BOYS: White ribbed tank top or t-shirt, black shorts that come above the knee, black ballet slippers

BALLET ‘ JAZZ FOR BOYS: White ribbed tank top, black shorts (above the knee), black ballet slippers/jazz shoes.

BALLET/TAP ‘ MOMMY & ME: Pink leotard, pink tights, pink ballet slippers, black tap shoes, hair tied neatly in bun or ponytail.
*No skirts or tutus in class.
*BOYS: White ribbed tank top or t-shirt, black shorts that come above the knee, black ballet slippers, black tap shoes.

JAZZ ‘ JAZZ RELATED CLASSES : Leotard or sports bra, jazz shorts or leggings, lace-less jazz shoes, hair tied neatly in ponytail.
*We recommend tan split sole lace-less jazz shoes.
*BOYS: White ribbed tank top or t-shirt, black shorts that come above the knee, black split sole lace-less jazz shoes.

HIP HOP ‘ BREAKING ‘ POPPING: T-shirt, bottoms (basketball shorts, sweats, leggings) tennis shoes, hair tied neatly in ponytail.
*For Breaking, we prefer bottoms that cover the knee or to have students bring kneepads, a polyester jacket, and a head beanie.
*No jeans allowed
*No school uniforms allowed

HULA: T-shirt or tank top, hula skirt (purchased through Instructor)

STREETEASE: T-shirt or tank top, shorts or leggings. Heels highly recommended for class.

ZUMBA ‘ YOGA: Comfortable work out clothing such as t-shirt or tank top, shorts or leggings, tennis shoes.
*Please bring your own mat for yoga.

POLE: T-shirt or tank top or sports bra, shorts. Bring a yoga mat for warm up. Do not apply any lotion or oil to your hands and body to prevent slipping. It is highly recommended that each student have their own bottle of dry hands for class. It will help to keep your hands and body parts “dry” when you grip the pole. Available for purchase at the front desk.
